生了一场大病...

That was my most serious illness in the whole 24 years of my life.
I was diagnosed to have Tonsillitis.

What exactly is Tonsillitis?
It is the inflammation of the tonsils.
Below shows a picture of someone having the same illness as me.

NOTE: This is not my mouth...

So basically what happened was that... like what the pic has shown...
my tonsils swell and there were white patches.
Those white patches are pus actually.

Swallowing of saliva seemed as if i was swallowing glass pieces.
At the same time, my ears hurt when i tried to swallow.

7th Sept 2007 (Fri):

MORNING
I woke up with a severe headache.
My throat hurt.
There were blood streaks in my phlegm.
I was feeling cold.
My whole body was aching.
I thought it was due to the new mattress i juz changed the day before, so i did not give it much thought.

EVENING
Started wrapping myself in thick blanket.
My body was still aching and the whole body was REDDISH.
My face was reddish as well.
I was a walking lobster.
I scared my mother with my colour and she quickly took out a thermometer to measure my temperature.
It read 39.8 deg cel.
That reading scared my mother even more.
She went down to the clinic immediately to queue on my behalf 45 mins before the clinic reopen from the dinner break.
She was first on the queue.

Doc said very strong antibiotics were required.
Each pill costs 3 bucks plus and i have to consume for 1 week.
I was given an antibiotic jab as well.

10th Sept 2007 (Mon):
On MC.
High fever continued despite the consumption of 20 fever pills.
Temperature still hovered at ard 38+ deg cel.
My throat and ear still hurt like hell when i tried to swallow.
Severe headache.
Went to see doc again.
Doc was disappointed to know that fever was not gone and my tonsillitis showed no sign of recovering.
He wrote a letter of recommendation to Bukit Batok Polyclinic for a full blood test.

I almost fainted on my way back fm polyclinic.
Although my eyes were wide open, i can't see a thing.
It was pitch dark.
I can't hear a sound as well.
I broke out in cold sweat.
On the verge of fainting, i told my mum i was about to faint soon.
I was too weak to even support my own body, I can onli lean on my mum while my mum tried her best to hold onto me.
Minutes later, i slowly gained back my conscious and strength.

Back to see my doc with the blood test report, doc confirmed it was a bacterial infection caused by streptococcus.
But the current antibiotics was not effective.
I was given another type of antibiotics and more fever pills.

11th Sept 2007 (Tue):
On MC.
Fever gone.
Throat did not hurt as much as before.
Swelling of the tonsils reduced by a bit.
I spit out red phlegm.
My phlegm was covered in blood.

12th Sept 2007 (Wed):
White patches started to disappear.
Signs of recovering were observed.
Phlegms were still covered in blood.

14th Sept 2007 (Fri):
Went to see doc again.
Doc said i have recovered.
But he wanted me to consume 2 more days of antibiotics.
I followed his instructions.

16th Sept 2007 (Sun):
Had my last pill of antibiotics.
I've fully recovered.
End of all misery.

Thank you mummy for looking after me when i was sick.
I am sorry that i made you worry.

I'm going for my practicum on 26th Feb '07.

What is practicum about?
It's sth like IA back in university...
so I will be posted to a school to teach for 1 semester... ard 10 weeks...
I will of coz be assessed and graded during that period...

pass practicum == 99.99% to graduation from NIE
fail practicum == 100% stay on for another semester in NIE + self-funded for NIE school fees + NO PAY!!!

Wish me luck... maybe i shld try to save a bit now...

A question to ponder on:
Let's say this person has already decided to 放 you 飞机, but doesn't inform you and wanted to act blur until u asked/confirmed with her if u two are still meeting on that day. Upon asking, lame excuses such as "Oh, sth cropped up suddenly. So i can't meet u le..." will then be used.

If such incident has happened twice with the same person, what will you do? Will you still agree to go out the next time she initiates a meetup? Will u flare up?

Note: It has always been her who wanted to meetup but eventually it's oso her who doesn't want to turn up for the meeting.

Life as a Trainee Teacher~

It's been a really long time since i last blog.
hehz...

Life now is good!
I started work as a trainee teacher on 19th June 2006...
It was quite zou bo at first until I started my 1 month of Enhanced School Experience (ESE) in Hong Kah Sec on 26th june 2006.

I have to report school every morning before 7.15am... School will end at 1.30pm from Monday to Thursday and especially early on Friday which will be 12.30pm! hehz...
It was still quite zou bo now though.. haha.. onli 4 periods of class observation daily which is equivalent to 2hrs...
what u do in the class observation is that you will observe how the different teachers teach~

Other than that 2hrs of more constructive activity per day... the rest of the hrs in school will be slacking or rotting or even NAPPING!
haha... i once napped for 2hrs+ straight then go home after that... haha... you can never do that in other workplace!

Occasionally our mentor or CTs will let us teach 1 lesson or 2... of coz u haf to prepare for ya own lesson material and plan out ya lesson...
I enjoy preparing for my lesson materials! haha... making fanciful powerpoint slides and make things fly here and there~ heehee...

The teachers in Hong Kah Sec are friendly and so far i sensed no office politics~
A very healthy environment to work in...

Liyun's 艳遇??

This came a little surprising...
Liyun had her short and sudden 艳遇 near PS???
wow!! haha...

Today... Liyun and I went for our medical checkup at Raffles Hospital in the morning...
after which we met up with Zaiqiang for lunch...
We were juz window shopping ard bugis at first... but soon liyun and I came out with our target of the day >> Buy Pretty Nail Polish! haha...

Yupz... we wanted to get pretty and cheap nail polish at first.. but in the end due to Zaiqiang's "recommendation", we switched to a collection of VERY pretty and not-so-cheap nail polish... haha...

Because the nail polish we wanted left onli 1... so we decided to go to other Sa** outlets to look for more... we went to Marina Sq's outlet first... haiz... they dun haf... so.. we proceed on to PS where we managed to find... haha... We are determined to get the nail polish we want!

We went to la-豆花 after our dinner in PS...

I went to cut hair juz now...
the auntie was very furious... she cut a lot of my hair away~
she cut for exactly 1hr non-stop!!
she said my hair very very very dry!!

wah... can't believe we are so lihai... but i muz really 佩服 Liyun.. she wore heels today and she can actually walked so much in tat pair of heels... muz give her 3 claps!! haha..

The shopping today was quite rush... very fast popping in and out of shopping centres... but ok lah.. new experience.. neva had such a rush shopping before... haha...

Despite a long 8hrs of shopping... i onli got 1 item.. haha.. but it's a great item... i wanted to get this item for a looooong time! Thx to Liyun and Layhian for spotting it... haha..

Previously.. I always use facial wash to remove my make-up... although i will wash twice, i can feel tat there is still a layer of make-up on my face.. i hate it!! so for a long time.. i wanted to get a cheap and effective make-up remover! wahaha....

It's Lor**l Gentle Cleansing Milk!! It will remove make-up and impurities.. yupz! i got test its cleansing ability before buying.. haha...

What i did was to use their eyeliner tester to draw a thick and dark line on my hand.. then i use its Cleansing Milk tester to remove it!! Wah... am i smart or am i smart???? hee..

i onli used a bit... and the whole stain came off!! Good good!! best of all.. it costs onli $12.90~ with a 20% off... it's onli $10.30 for a good 200ml!! haha.. who needs those $150 types of make-up remover?? hehz...

It has a very nice and mild fragnant too~ now my skin feels clean and fresh and soft too~ haha.. and guess wat? It removes my waterproof mascara too~~ wahahaha.. no more extra dark panda eyes the next morning!! yeah~

Half Day Outing!

It was a sudden half-day outing which was not arranged in the schedule previously...

Zaiqiang suggested going to Food Expo after his interview at CSIT but before going there.. we had to have our dinner first coz Zaiqiang was too hungry to travel until Expo~~ wahahaha... Look at his level of fullness before the dinner...

Ok.. he was super super hungry then... haha..

Dinner was at our favourite place... Bt Ti*** Food Centre (Name censored not because i dunno how to spell... but this is to protect the identity of the actual location.. heehee.... ring a bell?) The food there is tasty and most importantly cheap cheap cheap! You can spend little money there and eat like a king~ haha...

Haha.. we ordered Sting Ray with rice, Ngo Heung and Sugar cane drinks...
hmm... our actual Ngo Heung was a bigger pile than the one shown in pic.. Zaiqiang was too hungry then and already started eating b4 the pic was taken.. hahaha... but actually he was the one who remembered to take photos... I totally forgot... haha.. I was quite hungry then oso... hehz...

After our dinner... we decided to jio Eeling along to Expo coz we heard tat she wanted to go but couldn't find company... We arrived earlier than her and bought sausages first... we bought 3 types of sausages and auntie gave us free breads to go along... We wanted to wait for eeling then eat together one.. BUT!!! someone banged into me and one of the boxes opened up~ ahh... our marble sausages fell out... Everything was in a mess especially with those chilli sauce and mustard spilt all over inside the plastic bag... sooooo... we decided to clear the marble sausages without eeling! wahaha... okie... we got leave 1 for her to try the taste... heehee... we oso threw away the 3 dry breads... too full to finish those breads liao...

We forgot to take pic b4 eating again... hahaha... Gone were the marble sausages... left Cheesy Pork and Mushroom Chicken... Personally, i prefer the Cheesy Pork... haha... Yum yum~

After our sausages.. we were a bit thirsty... so we went back into Food Expo to sample free drinks... haha...

Muz introduce this new type of ice shaving from Taiwan call Snow Ice... it's very yummy~ Their ice shaving is very different from ours... theirs comes in flakes... so it's very soft and melts immediately in your mouth.. oh yah.. they used flavoured ice instead of plain ice... we ordered Milk Ice with Passion Fruit~

We saw it selling for 3 bucks at Expo~ we sampled the drink of coz~ haha.. Quite unique taste... It tastes like coffee at first.. but after u drink it... it tastes like teh~ hahaha...

haha... tat small cup contains the Coffee-Tea drink... It's exactly the same drink which Layhian has mentioned.. even the brand is the same... see the signboard in the above pic! We purposely took a pic with the signboard to prove... wahaha...

The 1 litre SoyMilk Zaiqiang was holding cost onli 1 buck!! haha.. the saleman said it's even cheaper than mineral water!! haha... so true..

This is Zaiqiang's level of fullness after the Expo trip... it shot all the way up!! haha...
I think it's because of that 1 litre SoyMilk... haha...

Zaiqiang and I went for a mini movie marathon on 25th May 2006, Thursday...

As what i would have expected from a nite's playing and no sleeping, Zaiqiang dozed off a number of times during our 2nd movie which is Da Vinci Code... *Snore Snore*...
Maybe coz he finished reading the book beforehand and already noe the ending... therefore the movie doesn't appear tat interesting to him anymore. Whereas for me... I find the movie quite ok... I watched from the very beginning to the very end... hehz..
why leh? coz i hafen finish reading the bk yet!! wahahaha...

Our 1st movie of the day is Over The Hedge... 1.35pm at the NEW Cathay Cineplex... oh my... how can u miss this movie?? it's really funny... can laugh to your heart's delight! hahaha...

Note those 3 baby porcupines when they are driving... they are sooooooooo cute!!!

We immediately queue for our 2nd movie once we stepped out from the 1st movie!! haha... 2nd show was at 3.50pm~ so we had a 50 mins break to rest for a while and to visit the washroom...

Overall, it was quite fun to haf a movie marathon... but the cinema was too cold.. luckily Zaiqiang and I brought blanket... haha... heng we came 有"被"而来... wahahaha....

Things I Bought From Bangkok~ Part 1

Hello~
This entry is to "show off" some of the items I bought from Bangkok! *Exciting~~~*

However, I wasn't the one who bought the most. If I am not wrong, considering juz the girls, Liting was the one who spent the most. Layhian was the first runner-up who claimed that she's not going to buy much in Bangkok initially... haha.. she underestimated her own purchasing power liao!!! wahaha... 2nd runner-up shld be Liyun. Eeling and I will be fighting for the 4th position. hehz...

I brought 300 SGD (ard 7100 Thai Baht) to Bangkok and only have a few hundreds Baht left. hehz... sooo.. u can roughly estimate how much did Liting spend there lah... heehee...

This is a pair of high-heel shoes which i like very much... Spotted by Liting at MBK! 好眼光!!

It's very comfy~ simply coz the material used is very soft. I dun think i will get any blister from this pair. *Happy~*

The heels are pretty high too. It is 3 inches high!! One of the highest pair of high heel shoes i ever own~ wahahaha...

Ans: 299 Baht which is ard S$12.60 only!! Cheap rite?

Next pair of shoes...

OK... This pair of shoes is even cheaper than the previous pair! It costs only 199 Baht (ard S$8.40) It comes from MBK too... Not as comfortable as the previous pair but quite comfy lah.. it's cheap aniwei~ What else can u ask for?? wahaha... Hope it is durable enough to last me a few months of wear and tear... heehee...

This pair is also slightly shorter as compared to the previous pair... ard 2.5 inches high. The height of the heel is juz nice... not too much stress on the knee and heel.. hehz...

Okie... End of shoes display... onli bought 2 pairs... what a pity~ Next time shld buy more! wahaha... Following up shall be hair accessories!

I wanted to buy LOTSA LOTSA hair accessories in Bangkok but din manage to do so in the end. haiz.... There wasn't much of a variety in the first place then the pricing oso quite high. I wasn't expecting the hair accessories to be that expensive in Bangkok so... was a bit 不舍得买...

Okie... let's take a look at some of the hair accessories i bought from Bangkok... hehz...

First of all... Pretty Hair Pins...

Bought this for 80 Baht at Silom Nightmarket. Wah!! it costs S$3.40!!! Okie... I admit i din do my mental sum when i bought this... haiz... if i noe this cost S$3.40, it wun be at my home now!! *Angry!*

Next on stage is... Gigantic Crocodile Hair Clip!!

I wanted to get one such clip but the pricing in Singapore for a size as shown in above pic will cost around S$40-50! Ex Ex Ex!! I got this at only 120 Baht which is around S$5.00~ hahaha... *Happy~*

Oh... i bought this together with the hair pin above. Auntie refused to lower the price although we tried to bargain... it's ok lah~ It's cheap enough le... heehee...

Third on stage is a row~ of~ Mini Hair Clips~~

Haha... This type of mini hair clips cost S$2.50 each in singapore. I bought mine at 12 for 180 Baht so each cost less than S$0.65... Not bad isn't it... I got it from some Chinatown Wholesale Market.. hehz.. dunno the name...

I share with layhian so we can have a mix of pink and blue butterflies. Take note of my little glittering butterfly hair clips nx time we go out woh~ heehee...

I bought 4 shiny bracelets at 75 Baht each~
Going to put 1 to 2 up on Yahoo Auctions and see if can manage to sell it away and earn a bit of money... heehee...

Bad Flight Experience

Our flight back to Singapore from Bangkok was quite a frightful experience for me and my other friends.

It was not a smooth ride back home as the weather was bad. Our plane met with air turbulence for as long as u can imagine. The "Fast Seat Belt" sign was on for most of the time. The ride was quite rough and bumpy, it was like travelling along a gravel road in a bus or coach. We even suffered 2 major drop in altitude. My heart almost dropped out! *Praying hard*
I do not want and do not wish to haf roller coaster ride on a plane.

When we are reaching Singapore, the weather had turned better and the plane returned back to its steadiness. No more bumpy ride.

Suddenly, Liyun asked a weird question "飞机是不是停了?"
*Shocked!!*
i saw her looking out of the window, trying to determine if the plane was still flying... hmmm.... weird weird

During the flight, we even saw our angmoh pilot coming out of his cockpit to have a bite of food and chit chat with the air stewardess. *Shocked!*
He loitered for around 3-4mins before going back in... haha..

I was so relieved when our plane landed safely.

Time to disinfect ya room!!
